Interested in getting same-day dental crowns in Oak Creek, South Milwaukee, and Franklin? We want our dental treatments to be as transparent as possible, so our team compiled this information to fill you in on the details of CEREC same-day crowns:

What Is CEREC?

CEREC is a special type of Computer-Assisted Design/Computer-Assisted Manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technology, designed for use by dentists. CAD/CAM uses advanced motorized equipment to sculpt 3D objects, including custom dental crowns that fit perfectly in your mouth.

CEREC uses a small, specialized CAD/CAM system, which can sculpt dental prosthetics out of tiny porcelain blocks, often in just a few minutes.

The CEREC Same-Day Crown Process

To begin your crown treatment, your mouth will be numbed and cleaned, and your tooth will be shaped to remove any damaged enamel and prepare for the crown. Dr. Saleki will then use a special camera and a powder-based substance to take photos and 3D images of your mouth. This information is uploaded to our in-office CEREC CAD/CAM machine, where your crown will be created.

Dr. Saleki will modify and adjust the 3D image of your tooth, and once it looks perfect, the machine will carve your crown in just a few minutes. After this, he’ll check the crown for the proper fit and finish, and place it permanently in your mouth using dental cement. Once it is affixed to your tooth, it will be cleaned and polished, and you’ll leave our office with a new, beautiful tooth!

What Are The Benefits of CEREC?

CEREC is convenient, affordable, and offers identical results to traditional crowns. Not only that, it allows you to complete your appointment in just a single day, which saves you time both and money. In addition, you won’t need to wear a temporary crown for 2-3 weeks while your permanent crown is being manufactured. Finally, CEREC crowns are strong and durable, and they look and feel just like a real tooth, making them a great long-term way to repair damaged teeth.
